Sheepskins
We send small batches of our Finn lamb sheepskins to be tanned into sheepskin rugs following harvest each year. This is one way we are able to honor each animal, making sure as little goes to waste as possible. From their loving lives, their generous meat & wool, and as a precious heirloom sheepskin.
They are tanned at Stern Tanning Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Their specialty are natural drum heads, so we find they are particularly skilled at making the leather in the back supple & strong, as well as maintaining the wool, which is so prized from our Finn lambs.
